DHADING: All four family members of Lal Bahadur Rumba’s family in Pida village of Dhading had gone to bed after a delicious dinner and good night wishes on Sunday evening.

They, however, could not sleep well. Every one of them felt unwell after a couple of hours. They started vomiting.

After the family members shared their health condition with neighbours, the villagers of Baluwadanda, Pida VDC-8, rushed them to a local health post on Sunday night.

Suspecting food poisoning, the health post referred them to Kathmandu the very night.

As usual, the Rumba family had prepared dhindo made of corn flour andgundruk for the Sunday dinner.

The victims include Lal Bahadur (85), his son Som Bahadur (42), daughter-in-law Sanumaya (40) and granddaughter Nakkali (15).

Police Inspector Hemanta Bhandari of Gajuri Area Police Post said locals had also reported the case with police and police personnel assisted in bringing them to the health post.

Former Chairman of the VDC, Pramod Raj Rupakheti, said the victims are undergoing treatment at the Manmohan Memorial Hospital in the Capital.

It has been learnt that the old man is critical while other three are out of danger.

Around three months ago, six members of a family had succumbed to food poisoning in Pukun of the same VDC after consuming rotis made of wheat flours.
