Police raise awareness against violence, trafficking in Dhading

DHADING: Police in Dhading district are organising cultural programmes to make people aware about violence and human trafficking in the wake of the devastating April 25 earthquake and its subsequent aftershocks.

DSC_0625Earlier, people would perceive that police personnel with sticks and guns are only to arrest criminals and to maintain peace and order in the society.

But entertaining awareness programmes organised by cultural teams of Nepal Police in coordination with the District Police Office of Dhading in different rural parts of the district to make people aware have changed people’s attitude to police

Issues regarding violence against women and children, human trafficking and chances of being cheated while going for foreign employment are included in the awareness programmes.

The programmes with the slogan of ‘Understand and Save’ has been organised in three constituencies.

According to the DPO Head, DSP Prakash Malla, hundreds of locals had attended the function.

Malla further said, to stop violence against women and children and human trafficking, District Development Committee, District Education Office, District Health Office, District Hospital, District Child Welfare Board, concerned stakeholders, political parties and other government and non-government agencies should be involved to increase awareness among people regarding the issues.
