Newly elected PM Oli’s home district in euphoric mood

            Kakadbhitta – Following the election of CPN (UML) Chairman Khadga Prasad Oli as the country’s 38th Prime Minister on Sunday, his home district of Jhapa has been suffused with a sense of euphoria and hope.

            images (6)The district’s political figures, intellectual fraternity and entrepreneurs among the public are jubilant and have expressed confidence in Oli for delivering the country out of the prevailing turmoil.

            “Jhapa has got an opportunity to hold the post of PM for the first time,” said a senior journalist Madan Dhakal, adding, “He possess the ability to bring all on board when moving forward.”

            Jhapa Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Umesh Dalmia termed the election of Oli as the country’s PM ‘appropriate’ while wishing him success to usher in an economic revolution and capability to steadfastly stand with nationalism by not stooping before anyone.

            Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal central member Rajendra Lingden called Oli a leader of the country not just the Jhapa district.

            He said the current problem of Tarai agitation and India’s unofficial blockade would be a test of Oli’s competence.

            Inter Party Women’s Alliance Jhapa Chairperson Maya Gurung expressed joy at the election of a PM who she said would not bow before any foreign embassy and uphold country’s dignity and independence.

            She said oil lamps would be lit to celebrate the occasion of the election of Oli as the country’s new PM.

            Jhapa electoral constituency – 7 from where Oli was elected to parliament is now submerged into jubilation and a celebratory mood. Oli’s election as the new PM has brought about a smile in the faces of the UML cadres and the public here.
