KATHMANDU: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) gave an authority to concerned agencies to release around Rs 12 billion to distribute the second instalment of the relief grant to the quake survivors in 14 worst hit districts for the reconstruction of their quake-damaged houses.

The meeting of the NRA held on Wednesday made a decision to this effect, shared NRA Chief Executive Officer Govinda Raj Pokharel.

The authority has been given to the Central Project Implementation Unit and Quake-resilient Building Reconstruction Project under the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development for the same, according to Pokharel.

Although the NRA was to provide Rs 200,000 to each quake-hit households to help rebuild their houses, the government had increased the relief grant amount to Rs 300,000.

The second tranche of support amounts to Rs 150,000.

There are total 626,036 authenticated beneficiaries.
