DHADING: Nepali Congress central leader Dr Minendra Rijal has said that the new coalition government is in peril with the ripening tug of war between two largest parties—NC and CPN-UML.

Inaugurating the 6th District Conference of Press Union Nepal, Dhading chapter here today, leader Rijal said that the current consensus and coalition between two largest parties is in crisis owing to the dispute mounted over the allocations of ministries.

“UML has denied to join government without the home portfolio whereas NC is adamant about holding the ministry in its own pocket,” Dr Rijal. “The both parties should be responsible enough to give up on some of their stances .”

If parties fail to do so, the current power sharing will be dragged to the crises, he added.

Dr Rijal was of the opinion that parties should not limit their roles to forming and toppling down the government on the basis of majority votes.

Dr Rijal, who also heads the party publicity department, also said his party is always committed on the politics of consensus between two parties.
Also, he said that the current government should not be replaced until the constitution would be in place.
