DHADING: A boy in Maidi village of Dhading district committed suicide after he failed the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations held in March.

Results of the tests were announced on Friday.

Sunil Bharati (17) from Devisthan, Maidi-8 of the district killed self on Friday evening, police said.

He had failed Optional Mathematics tests, according to Thulo Chaur Secondary School, where the boy studied.

“He was not a weak student to fail the exams,” a teacher of the school said, “We were shocked from the results.”

The student, however, could apply to recalculate the score, instead of taking the cruel decision, he suggested.
