Kathmandu, -An exhibition of Nepali art by Chinese artist Chao Zhen Chhyu has opened at the Nepal Art Council from today. The exhibition was organised coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between Nepal and the People’s Republic of China.

Chinese ambassador Wu Chuntai inaugurated the ‘Ink Wash’ art exhibition that celebrates the trans-Himalayan friendship.

On the occasion, ambassador Wu said the relations between China and Nepal were cordial since the time of their establishment which has been further deepened by the sanatana culture, Buddhism and the Himalayas.

Culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi appreciated the artworks of the Chinese artist and his understanding of the Nepali art and culture.

The exhibition contains 60 pieces of artwork by the Chinese artist. The exhibition will last till October 18.

The ink art depicts temples, stupas, monasteries, various ancient palaces including the Basantapur, Patan and Bhaktapur, the Himalayas, ponds, forest and some aspects of the traditional Hindu and Buddhist Nepali art and culture.
