DHADING: Dhading district monitoring committee has decided to shut down more than 70 sand processing industries operating illegally and evading tax for years in the district.

A meeting of the monitoring committee held today at Dhadingbesi took decided to this effect.

As many as 73 sand processing industries are operating at Baireni, Pida and Gajuri VDCs. There are 34, 36 and three sand processing

industries operating illegally at Baireni, Pida and Gajuri VDCs respectively, district monitoring committee coordinator and CDO Dipak Raj Nepal said.

A member of the monitoring committee said the committee had decided to close down the sand processing industries as 43 proprietors were operating them without registration. Earlier, district cottage and small industry development committee had issued a directive to 36 crusher industries to pull down their shutters.
