DHADING: The absconding mastermind of CPN-UML leader Shiv Thapa Magar’s murder, Tek Bahadur Tamang, has been arrested and jailed after two years and two months of the Dhading District Court’s verdict.

Thapa, a local leader, was hacked to death by a group led by Tamang in October 2010 when he had returned to his home village in Dhading to celebrate Dashain. His body was thrown off a cliff.

Tamang was affiliated to the then CPN-Maoist. The party, however, said that their cadres were not involved in the murder.

On April 29, 2013, the District Court had issued a verdict against the accused and imposed a life term of 15 years on Tamang.

Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Kathmandu, had arrested the absconding murderer from the Capital on Saturday, and handed him over to the District Police Office Dhading the following day.

When presented before the Court, the Court told police to execute its verdict and send him to jail.
