1, 050 households at high risk of landslide shifted to safer place

DHADING: As many as 1,050 households that were at high risk of landslides following the April 25 earthquake and recurring aftershocks have been shifted to a safer place, the District Disaster Rescue Committee (DDRC) informed.
According to Basudev Ghimire, Chief District Officer (CDO) as well as coordinator of the DDRC, more other 1000 households have been relocated to the safer place till mid-August.
According to a study team led by lawmakers of the district, more than 2,144 families are in dire need of shelter after the massive earthquake.
People from remote VDCs like Tipling, Ri, Lapa, Darkha, and Jharlang of the district have been shifted to open place near the district headquarters.
However, some of the families do not want to leave their forefather’s place.
