DHADING: Dhading is emerging as an ideal location for setting up LPG bottling plants.

With major highways running through the district, the district has turned into an attractive site for entrepreneurs to set up gas plants. The district is located on Prithvi Highway that links the Capital to the rest of the country.

Twenty-five per cent of the 52 gas bottling plants in the country, is located in Dhading.

There are a total of 13 such plants between Khanikhola of Naubise and Majhimtar of Jogimara.

Of them, three are located at Naubise, two each at Takre, Bhumesthan and Benighat and one each at Dhusha, Baireni, Gajuri, and Jogimara.

According to former chairperson of Gas Entrepreneurs’ Federation Hari Prasad Pathak, most of the gas produced in the district is supplied to Kathmandu.

“As the Capital has high demand for LP gas, most entrepreneurs want to set up such plants in places close to Kathmandu,” said Pathak, the proprietor of Om Gas plant, who had established the first gas bottling plant in the district.

“As major highways run through the district and it is close to the Capital, Dhading is gradually developing as an industrial corridor,” said Chairperson of Dhading Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chandrakanta Adhikari.
