DHADING: Floods triggered by torrential rainfall has claimed a person’s life in Salyankot of the district on Tuesday.

According to the District Police Office, Dhanding, Pitta Bahadur Kandel (64) of Salyankot-4 was swamped away by the swollen Ansu River yesterday afternoon.

The incident took place while he was trying to cross the River.

Police said that the incessant rain has also destroyed properties worth millions in Charange and the adjoining areas of the district on Tuesday.

Similarly, normal life in Jyamarung, Tripureshwor and Katunje of the district has also been adversely affected following incessant rainfall since Monday.

According to Dambar Adhikari, former Chairman of Jyamarung VDC, the river in water level in Charange River has destroyed hundreds of ropanis of cultivated land.

Meanwhile, heavy rainfall accompanied by storm and lightening destroyed community building and temples among other infrastructures at the village.
