DHADING: Dhading District Court collected Rs 60.1 million as fine this fiscal year from convicts who were absconding after the conviction, during its campaign to implement past verdicts.
The Court got success in making absconding convicts pay the fine to the Court in first nine months of this fiscal year, District Judge Ramesh Raj Pokhrel said amid a press conference on Wednesday.
Pokhrel said cooperation from police, absconding convicts and members of the general public resulted in implementing the past verdicts.
Likewise, a cumulative jail term of 309 years, seven months and 28 days has been implemented this year, the Court said.
Judge to interact with citizens
Meanwhile, the Court revealed that it is planning to hold interactions with citizens in all villages and towns of the district from next month.
It will also launch a counselling service for plaintiffs and defendants of conflict-era cases from April 14.
The service operates from 1:30 pm to 2 pm every day, the Court said.
The Court has aimed to settle minor cases in reconciliation through counseling and interactions, according to Judge Pokhrel.
