DHADING: District Monitoring Committee, Dhading has closed crusher industries and sand mines operating illegally across the district.

Acting on a diktat from the Home Ministry, the committee wrote to entrepreneurs to shut their industries and sand mines immediately. Though over 100 crusher industries and sand mines operate on the highway and river banks in the district for years, only 50 of them are registered.

Assistant Chief District Officer Bijayaraj Poudel said, “As even the registered industries and mines are involved in activities detrimental to the environment and are working against the Supreme Court’s order, we have warned them too.” .

Stone crushers and sand mines were monitored after the directive from the Cabinet not to issue licence to any crusher mill and sand mine till the end of this fiscal.
